When is the Convention?
The 2012 Democratic National Convention is from September 3-6.
Are delegates responsible for their travel expenses to the Convention?
Yes, unfortunately we are unable to provide financial assistance for individuals who are elected to serve as delegates to the National Convention. Please take into consideration the costs of travel, lodging, and food for the convention dates when deciding to qualify to run. For information regarding convention expenses, plese see our estimated expense sheet.
Can Delegates raise money?

How are At-Large and Alternate Delegates selected?
At-Large and Alternate Delegates were elected by the State Democratic Executive Committee on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Montgomery. Alabama’s delegation will include 14 at-large delegates and 5 alternates. Any Democrat–including those who ran at the district level and were defeated–could qualify and stand for election as an at-large or alternate delegate. You need not be a member of the State Democratic Executive Committee. The deadline to qualify as an at-large or alternate delegate was 5:00 PM on Thursday, April 12, 2012. The process is described in our 2012 Delegate Selection Plan, which has been found in compliance by the Rules and Bylaws Committee of the Democratic National Committee and is available on-line.
